Four cho dan bo (blue belt or black belt candidate) students from Raven TSD passed their black belt pre-test in Phoenix. In addition to the pre-test of their skills and knowledge, students must pass a written test, write an essay, and perform community services in order to test for black belt. Great job!

Shihan Kevin Pereira, 7th Dan Japanese Jujutsu Master, visited Raven TSD and gave a class on joint locks. Shihan Pereira's school, Shishiryu Bujutsu, is located in Brooklyn, New York City.
Four students competed in the WTSDA Region 2 Championships on October 14, walking away with ten total medals!
Raven TSD hosted a booth at the Southside Community Day Event at Swan Park. We performed weapons and empty-hand forms and invited community members to learn self-defense and board breaking.
This young man started his TSD training in 2016 with his mom. They were among the first students at Raven TSD. In January, 2020, his soon-to-be step-dad joined Raven TSD, right before the COVID-19 pandemic hit in full force. Their dedication to our art was unwavering, despite the shutdowns, classes on Zoom, and training with masks and social distance. In October, 2020, this young man tested for first degree black belt via Zoom due to the pandemic. Then, in April, 2023, step-son and step-dad successfully tested together for second-degree and first degree black belts, respectively. #perseverance
Master Finger attended the WTSDA National Championship in Chicago, IL (Region 5) where he served as Security for the Head Table. Approximately 1000 WTSDA practitioners attended the event!
